Nice to meet you!
Choosing a therapist is hard work and so much of it depends on the client-therapist connection. I like to be transparent with my clients because I believe that their success is far more likely if our personalities are congruent.
My name is Kristin (Kris) and I am a mom of 3 who has found my counseling career later in life after accruing enough maturity to give insight into others' lives. My identity includes words like adoptee, only child, orphan, divorced, empty-nester, New Englander, and self-employed. I have a unique insight into relationships through the combination of graduate school studies and my half of a century of lived experience.
I love working with clients who are feeling disoriented after life changes, particularly those that may have been unexpected. Womens' issues I specialize in include: childbirth trauma, sexual concerns, parent adjustment, grief, menopause, empty nesting, divorce, and relationship challenges.
"Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do."
- Brené Brown
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you."
- Anne Lamott
"When two people decide to get a divorce it isn't a sign that they don't understand one another, but a sign that they have, at least, begun to."
- Helen Rowland
