Couples Therapy: Are We Roommates or Soulmates
Most couples don't come to therapy because they have stopped caring about each other. They come because they feel stuck in the same arguments, disconnected from the person they once felt closest to, or uncertain about where the relationship is headed. Whether you're struggling with communication, intimacy, trust, life transitions, or the growing feeling that you've become more like roommates than partners, couples therapy provides a space to slow down, understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and create a stronger, more satisfying connection.
Therapy for Women: Whose Life is This
You've spent years taking care of everyone else—your children, your partner, your parents, your career. Now life is changing, and you may find yourself wondering who you are outside of the roles you've always played. Whether you're navigating menopause, an empty nest, divorce, relationship challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can help you reconnect with your own needs, clarify what matters most, and create a life that feels like it truly belongs to you.
You worked hard, provided for your family, handled your responsibilities, and kept moving forward. Yet somewhere along the way, you may have found yourself feeling disconnected—from your partner, your purpose, or even yourself. Whether you're navigating divorce, relationship challenges, an empty nest, career transitions, or simply questioning what's next, therapy offers a place to make sense of where you are and create a more meaningful path forward.

What it's Like Working With Kris
Finding the right therapist isn’t just about training or credentials—it’s about whether you feel like you can actually show up as yourself. I'm Kris Lawson. I’m a therapist, a mom of three, and an adoptee. I didn’t come to this work from a textbook—I came to it through lived experience, relationships, and the long process of figuring out what actually helps people feel more connected and steady in their lives.
Most of the people I work with seek therapy because something that used to work (relationships, roles, identity, connection) doesn’t feel the same anymore. I often use real-life examples and a bit of humor when it fits. Not to distract from what’s hard, but because people usually start to recognize themselves in everyday moments before they can name what’s actually going on. That recognition can make things feel less heavy and more workable. My goal is to get you through whatever it is that has you feeling stuck by forming a bond first, learning of the pain through your eyes, and then collaborating for a solution. I will guide you with all of the tools and resources, but ultimately you will set the pace.
